Monica Berns-Conner, MEd is a Research Assistant, Graduate Teaching Associate, and PhD scholar at the University of Central Florida. She worked as a classroom Reading/ESL Teacher, Reading Intervention Specialist, and Teacher of Students with Disabilities for ten years in Florida and New Jersey. Through her research with the Learning Sciences and Exceptional Student Education, she hopes to develop programs for individuals with disabilities that will be readily available and mainstream for all educators in serving diverse populations.
