Annie Garduño, Med is living a joyful life on the edge of sanity most days as she juggles being a wife to Arturo, a mom to Katy, AJ, Mateo, and Antonio, a daughter to Sue Ann and Fred, and a middle school teacher. She enjoys reading, writing, hiking with her husband, watching her little boys on a soccer field, attending Katy’s performances, rail-fanning with AJ, spending time with her supportive mom and her amazing girlfriends, and evaluating algebraic equations. Since AJ’s autism diagnosis in 2008, Annie earned her master’s degree in special education to improve her skill set by learning strategies for being a better mom and a better general education teacher. She sees herself as an advocate not only for her children but for all children.
